On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognise where appropriate the inhalation, chemical or electrical aspects of burns injuries
  2. Learn the effective use of Total Body Surface Assessment (TBSA) and formulae for fluid replacement where necessary
  3. Describe the priorities and procedure for the immediate assessment and management of patients with major trauma
  4. Have knowledge of continuing care and the options for disposition in the patient with major trauma
  5. Understand the recent changes to ARC guidelines in relation to BLS & demonstrate competence in application of BLS principles
