On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Recognise where appropriate the inhalation, chemical or electrical aspects of burns injuries
- Learn the effective use of Total Body Surface Assessment (TBSA) and formulae for fluid replacement where necessary
- Describe the priorities and procedure for the immediate assessment and management of patients with major trauma
- Have knowledge of continuing care and the options for disposition in the patient with major trauma
- Understand the recent changes to ARC guidelines in relation to BLS & demonstrate competence in application of BLS principles
