Invitation

Flinders University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) are proud to be part of an international medical education movement, Training for Health Equity Network (THENet), which seeks to ensure the next generation of health professionals have the values and skills required to contribute to the health workforce in areas of socioeconomic disadvantage through providing community engaged medical education.

Building on the success of the 2008 ICEMEN conference in Northern Ontario, Canada, Flinders, together with NOSM, are co-hosting the second international conference on community engaged medical education: the Global Community Engaged Medical Education Muster. This conference will be held from 18th - 21st October 2010 at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort in South Australia.

The Muster provides an exciting program featuring internationally recognised leaders in community engaged medical education, THENet, Continuous Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (CLIC), interprofessional health education, and social accountability. Our goal for the Muster is simple, but bold: to raise and strengthen awareness of community engaged medical education through greater participation in international dialogue and exchange. On behalf of the 2010 Organising Committee, we are delighted to invite you to support and participate in this important event. The Muster will attract approximately 150 delegates representing academics, commercial organisations, Medical Education institutes, doctors, and health professionals from all around the world. This Prospectus outlines a variety of sponsorship and exhibition opportunities that are available, giving you the opportunity to extensively network in a focused, professional learning environment.

We hope you will accept our invitation to sponsor this event. The delegates are high level decision makers with a busy conference program; having a good exchange rate for the Australian dollar will help ensure an ideal sponsorship opportunity. For many delegates, this will be their first visit to Australia and sponsors with play a pivotal role in the overall success of the 2010 Global Community Engaged Medical Education Muster. We encourage your organisation to make a positive contribution by participating.

In closing, we would be pleased and honored for you to consider providing your support at the 2010 Global Community Engaged Medical Education Muster.
