The NDLR Special Oration recognizes Scientists and/or Clinicians who have made outstanding contributions to our understanding of leukemia, its diagnosis and treatment. The NDLR2012 Special Oration will be delivered by Prof. Timothy Hughes whose ground-breaking research has revolutionized the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patien ts. His contributions include defining the importance of molecular monitoring in CML patients receiving kinase inhibitor therapy, showing that the mutation profile helps clinicians to choose the best kinase inhibitor to use and using pre-therapy kinase sensitivity to tailor drug dose for each patients.
