Using WEAR - AMI, ARIS and Ergodata demonstrations
WEAR is an international collaborative effort to create a worldwide resource of anthropometric data for a wide variety of engineering applications. The workshop will introduce participants to an internet webpage portal that allows access to millions of data points from around the world and will showcase tools to analyze these data.
Participants will have temporary access to the WEAR network for 7 days. They will be able to navigate the database and do basic statistical analysis during the tutorial.

Fitmapping - glove exercise
Fit mapping is determining who a product fits well and who it does not. This tutorial will show you how to make a fit map for a glove. We will measure the hand, then measure the garment, assess the hand in the garment and see who it fits and who it doesn’t. You will be shown how to use this information to do an analysis in Excel to recommend improvements in the size and fit range.
Participants will gain an understanding about the process of making a fit map and also grasp the concept of making your own fit map for your own designs.
An overview of DELMIA Digital Human Model
Dassault Systèmes' Virtual Ergonomics Solutions is a tool that will help you harness collective intelligence from your product development stakeholders effectively, enabling you to get access to the added values of using an advanced Digital Human Modeling tool:
- Evaluate how a person really interacts with your product or workplace design with lifelike human manikins
- Save money by catching ergonomics problems as early as possible in the design process
- Lower the cost of work related injuries
- Eliminate the need for physical mockup and real human simulation
- Deliver innovative products to market faster, safer and with higher quality
- Use your 3D Human modeling simulation as a marketing tool to promote your product and train the users
- Reduce the cost of your work cover premiums
Participants will be introduced to the latest technology in Human Modeling which is the future in Human Factors and Design. This is also a fantastic opportunity to get a hands-on experience on a state of the art technology in Human Modeling

Extended version of WPAFB “train your digital man model”
This workshop provides a comparison between the Human Model shown in the last session and a real person of the same measurements. This presentation verifies that the measurements of the digital man model is really the same as the real person and when they are not the same, it shows how to manage any discrepancies
Participants will gain an understanding of the benefits and limitations of an existing digital man model.

Polyworks
Hi-Tech Metrology will be presenting a "hands on" session showing the real benefit of using the state-of-the-art 3D visualisation software package called PolyWorks. It will enable delegates to get an understanding of what real life benefit working in a 3D "point cloud" world might bring them, coming away from the session with not only a taste of it's usefulness, but also a copy of the IMView software allowing them to investigate further in the comfort of their own office
Participants will be given a free software

Integrate
Overlay two 3-D scans and see the differences in shape and size. This software has been developed by the US government as an anthropometric measuring tool.
This workshop will introduce you to INTEGRATE 2. 8 which is a Linux or Windows-based software package, to visualize, analyze, and manipulate three-dimensional topographic data. The analysis capability represented by this software is robust, flexible, and instrumental in applying 3-D anthropometry toward the improved fit of protective equipment, clothing, commercial head gear, and medical devices.
Integrate (full version) will be distributed free to participants along with tutorials and a manual.
Statistical Shape Analysis
This tutorial introduces the basic concepts of statistical shape analysis and how it is used for processing 3D anthropometric data.
Participants will gain an understanding of the latest state of the art analysis of 3D body scan data. This type of analysis is the future of anthropometry.
Generate results of Fitmapping exercise in excel from data collected on previous day
This will be the generation of the results of measurements collected in the previous day measurement session.
Participants will gain an understanding of how fit mapping works and how to generate results in Excel which lead to recommendations on sizing
