This education is open to nurses and Aboriginal Health Professionals only. This session will be held concurrently with the education session in Victor Harbor. The presenter will be streamed live from the Victor Harbor location with participants able to see and speak with the presenter and participants at the Victor Harbor location. There will be SAPMEA staff on site to support the delivery of this session.

Learning outcomes:

  • Explore the role of the health professional and person with diabetes in achieving improved health outcomes from lifestyle strategies
  • Investigate the impact of healthy eating, physical activity and stress on diabetes management and overall health
  • Focus on strategies effective in educating and motivating people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, including strategies used by the participants to "think outside the square"
