As part of its hundred year involvement with medical education in South Australia,, sapmea has, since 1975, also initiated and managed meetings and events for the medical, science and engineering communities.

As a not-for-profit association, and health promotion charity with deductable gift recipient status, sapmea is unique in its capacity to support research and continuing education for the better health of our community. Profits generated by sapmea and sapro support research programs, scholarships and continuing education programs for medical professionals in metropolitan and rural areas. The acquisition in 2009 of sapro Conference Management has allowed sapmea to further refine and specialise its areas of expertise.
The conference management arm of our operations is dealt with by the sapro team, while Continuing Medical Education workshops and operational administration is handled by sapmea. This unity and diversity in our operations allows us to offer an exceptional and unequalled service to the community.
